PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Ultrasound Technologist is a professionally trained technologist familiar with various ultrasound modalities for the completion of invasive and non-invasive examinations. The Ultrasound Technologist provides the radiologic service to patients as directed by the providers. The Ultrasound Technologist is also responsible for compliance with all OSHA/CLIA and HIPAA regulations, and ensuring completion of all duties vital to business operations. The Ultrasound Technologist is a highly visible position that is always responsible for creating a positive impression with patients, family members, and other visitors to the office.
EDUCATION:
Please describe the minimum education REQUIRED to perform the position duties.
Minimum: H.S. Diploma/GED.
Required to be trained in one of the following: Graduate of an AMA accredited school of Radiologic Technology, AMA approved school of Ultrasound Technology or through an accredited nursing program.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
Please describe the minimum amount of experience required to perform the position duties.
6 months to 1-year experience preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint and the ability to learn other computer skills.
- Must have good organizational skills and work professionally with doctors, hospital administration and management, SEP employees and the public.
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team-based decision-making culture.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently resulting in effective outcomes and on-time performance.
- Experience in planning and coordinating multi-disciplinary communications strategies, strategic initiatives, and events.

OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS
Excellent knowledge of radiation protection of patients, peers and self. Must have extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology, radiation physics, ultrasound equipment, QC, and the HIS. Familiar with all B-Mode, Real Time, and Color Flow Applications.
LICENSES
List any licenses and/or certifications required to perform this position.
Must be certified by the ARDMS either in abdominal, OB, Vascular or Echo. Graduates must pass ARDMS registry within one year from date of hire.
