PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Clinical Certified Pharmacy Technician is primarily responsible for providing clinical support to the Ambulatory Care Pharmacy and Value-Based performance teams as it relates to medication-related patient needs. This position may be responsible for a variety of duties, including patient outreach to schedule appointments with pharmacists, patient outreach for medication adherence support, using payor and internal data to identify patients with medication-related needs, processing medication refills according to protocols, providing customer service, communicating with providers and office staff in person and via the EMR, documenting in the EMR, medication prior authorization assistance, working with patients and health care teams for patient medication assistance guidance, and other duties as assigned. The Clinical Certified Pharmacy Technician is responsible for compliance with all HIPAA regulations and is always responsible for creating a positive impression with patients, family members, and internal or external coworkers or contacts

EDUCATION:

Minimum:

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. PTCB or NHA certification
  3. KY Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration
  4. Experience with Medication Therapy Management billing

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

1 year of work experience in a pharmacy setting is required.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint and the ability to learn other computer skills. Must have good organizational and communication skills and work professionally with doctors, hospital administration, management, SEP employees, and the public.
